Bank of Ireland has announced a range of new e-banking services for users of 365online.com, following a EUR10 million investment.
The new options available to the bank's 650,000 registered online users include the ability to make international payments, top up mobile phones and set up third party beneficiaries. Users of the online service can now also set up, amend or cancel standing orders. In addition, the bank has launched online demonstrations of how to use its service in English, Polish and Chinese (Mandarin).
"The primary reason that customers do not use online banking is the mistaken perception that it is difficult to use. As a result of this insight we have also launched new online demonstrationsÂ… which effectively demonstrate to potential users just how easy and convenient it is to use Bank of Ireland 365 Online," said Brendan Nevin, Director of Strategy & Marketing at Bank of Ireland.
The bank has claimed a 30 percent increase in the number of online transactions so far this year, with over 4 million transactions conducted via the internet between January and September.
In addition, there's been a jump of 150 percent in the number of customers choosing to source their loan online over the past two years, according to Nevin.
This latest investment follow last year's EUR5 million site revamp, which gave customers the ability to register and view mortgage, SSIA, and investment accounts online, as well as upgrading the overall look of the site.
