Citrix reports 22 percent rise in revenue | MMA issues mobile advertising guidelines

Dublin-based software firm, Arantech, has established a new office in Singapore and signed a deal with local mobile operator, M1, to implement the firm's Touchpoint CEM solution. Arantech said the solution will be commercially operational on the M1 network by the middle of this year, making M1 the first South East Asian mobile network operator to establish a CEM solution as a key, revenue-generating business process on its network. Initially, Touchpoint will be used to monitor the end-user experiences of subscribers as they make use of M1's data services across the 2.5G/3G and HSDPA networks.

The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) -- which represents more than 600 companies -- has published new advertising guidelines that are intended to create a framework for brands and media companies to deliver mobile advertising in a positive and consistent way. Regional principles have been integrated into the global guidelines to ensure a consistent approach to mobile advertising worldwide. The guidelines, which have received endorsements from associations such as the dotMobi Advisory Group and IAB UK, provide improved formats around mobile web and have added new guidelines for messaging and downloads.

Spam accounted for 93 percent of all e-mails heading for Irish inboxes this week, according to the latest figures from IT Force. The company analysed over 406,500 e- mails received by its clients and established that 378,161 of them were unsolicited.

US software firm, Citrix, has announced revenue of USD377 million for the first quarter of 2008, a rise of 22 percent on the USD308 million recorded for the first quarter of fiscal 2007. Net income was USD34 million, or USD0.18 per diluted share, versus USD38 million, or USD0.20 per diluted share for the first quarter of 2007. Revenue grew by 31 percent in EMEA, by 28 percent in the Pacific region and by 13 percent in the Americas.

TalkTalk, the landline company from the Carphone Warehouse, has invested EUR200,000 in advertising and PR to promote its new broadband & home phone packages in Ireland. The Talk Complete bundle offers customers unlimited calls anytime to Irish landlines, 30 mobile minutes to any network any time, 200 international minutes to landlines in any country, line rental and free calls to other TalkTalk customers for EUR55.99 a month (including VAT). Customers will also get 1Mbps broadband as part of the bundle.

Dublin-based Springboard Mortgages has signed a contract with Ergo Software Solutions to roll out 'Expert Lender', a new loan application processing system. The contract is estimated to be worth up to EUR1 million. Expert Lender provides a platform for the complete loan application process for Springboard's network of 200 plus brokers, from application receipt through to electronic funds transfer or cheque issue.
